Charity Credit Cards Popular Despite Recession

Times may be hard, but charity credit cards remain a popular choice for UK consumers looking to support a wide range of worthy causes.

Whether you want to help an animal, children’s or health charity, you’ll find a card which raises funds for your favourite organisation. Usually, the charity will receive a small donation for each purchase made on the card, and often a larger one-off gift when the card is first taken out.

British good causes received nearly £17m in 2008 from charity credit cards, and billions of pounds are spent using these kinds of cards every year. Recession or not, it seems many of us are still happy to forego cashback or other credit card rewards as long as our chosen charities benefit.
