VW Polo Generations
There has been five generations of the VW Polo, of 2009. The different generations are identified by a “series” or “mark” number. Some generations where face-lifted half way through the production. The body style has varied greatly throughout all the generations of the vehicle. There has also been VW vehicles built of different platforms that have carried the Polo name, such as the VW Polo Playa. The first VW Polos were hatchbacks and the saloon version of the Polo was marketed as the VW Derby. The polo has also been produced with an estate and crossover SUV style, ranging from 2 doors in the hatchback version to 5 doors in the crossover SUV style.
